Dr Aoife de Faoite (White) is a North Kerry native. She completed her medical degree in University College Cork, graduating in 2010. After completing her internship in Cork University Hospital and Mercy University Hospital, she travelled to Australia and remained there for six years. Whilst there, she worked in Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Intensive Care Medicine, Trauma Medicine and Psychiatry.
She returned to Ireland in 2017 to complete her GP training. She worked in Dublin and Cavan before returning to Kerry. Whilst completing her GP training in Ireland, she gained experience in Palliative Care, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Mental Health and General Medicine. She is passionate about lifelong learning and enjoys all aspects of GP but is especially passionate about Women’s Health and Mental Health.
She has completed a Masters in Psychological Medicine (University of Melbourne), a Diploma in Paediatrics (RCPI), Professional Certificate in Dermatology (UCD) and the ICGP Certificate in Community Gynaecology. She also has a Certificate in Contraception and an Advanced Certificate in Long-Acting Reversible Contraception as well as a Certificate in Practice Management. She is currently completing the British Menopause Society Certificate in Management of the Menopause.
Outside of work, she enjoys running and spending time with her husband and young family.
